Hexagonal Masyu #3

So far, my favourite instance of the original Masyu puzzle is #20 from Nikoli's Puzzle Box 7. That was a good one. Here's a hexagonal version that pays a bit of homage to that, though my version may be easier... (Note: I didn't spend enough time play-testing the puzzles that I post, so they may have some errors in there, or they may be a lot easier than I intended...)

  • Hmmm. Very interesting adaption but I am left wondering how to go about playing this one as we clearly now have 6 directions instead of the usual 4. How do we handle the black pearls, we can no longer take a right turn and if we simply take our choice of one of 4 turns then the puzzle becomes far too easy. A good effort but you need clearly defined/entirely new rules

  • My Bad. I only just noticed the instructions link on the side, my fault for not looking. Those were the kind of rules I was thinking would work but I still manages to solve the puzzle in under 4 mins. With those sets of rules its however just the same as Masyu just skewed/warped. Oh and if your still wondering I believe the correct pronunciation is 'my-say-u'

  • The rules for the black circle is that you must make a 120-degree turn at that cell, and go straight for at least two cells in both directions. That means there are essentially 6 possible ways you can turn at that cell. The way this is similar to the square masyu is that once you enter a black cell from one direction, you have only 2 choices of how to get out. Hmm...not sure if this makes any sense...it's a little hard to explain.
