So all of a sudden, mom decided to come here soon...not sure if I want to take that as good news or bad news... (Instant update: Mom's not coming. No space on the planes. And once again, she wants me to go back...sigh...)

Research is going pretty badly. Who knew that caterpillars are that hard to study?

Apparently my family back there (especially in Tainan) has lots of connections with people here. Another connection discovered yesterday was that Roger's mom was a Tainanese, and she knew about the photography studio that my granddad opened. Now my mom and his mom are about the same age, and his mom used to live on the same street as my mom. So there is a small chance that they have met before. I guess we'll see soon...
