72 hours, 3 cities, 218.0 kilometres. And I’m back from discipleship camp. I’m not sure it was worth going, actually. Well, it’s my fault, really, since I wasn’t able to pay attention to all the sermons, sleeping during a lot of them. I was still marking during the first half of the camp, and then had to think about research. That was quite distracting, I would say. Also, I brought boardgames to the camp, but I didn’t play any. Rather, the others played like crazy, one night staying up until 4 or 5am. So maybe that was a mistake. They played poker a lot, and I joined in two games after the marking is finished. I got down to final 3 in the first game, then lost. In the second, I was second to lose. So…no poker for me. On the other hand, I invented a poker-type game that requires quick reflexes and fast hand-determining skills, and they liked it…I don’t know why, actually, but somehow we managed a straight flush in one of the games…that’s interesting. Back to discipleship camp, I was struggling with many quesitons, some of whom have very straightforward solutions which I’m not willing to implement…so what’s it going to be, World or Christ? I don’t know…
The drive back from camp was a test of nerves (with directions) and patience (with John). After coming back, had a nice nap, dinner, then off to school to try to do some research work in preparation for supervisor meeting today. I came up with a silly (or rather, stupid) idea during the camp, and tried to go forward with that, but didn’t go far. It was pretty frustrating, with distractions all around. Today, I presented what I had, and supervisor seemed to have liked it…which is strange… Anyway, finally I get a meeting that wasn’t so awkward. I took the rest of the day off (as usual), and here I am typing away my time.
Psalm 11:5. Still disturbs me to this day.
